We had the best Christmas morning yesterday and it was so much more fun now that Wyatt knows about Santa and can get excited about gifts. Ross worked Christmas Eve and we all slept until he walked through the door at 8 a.m. We quickly got the kids into their special Christmas themed pajamas and then let them loose to check out what Santa had brought them.
Wyatt raced down the hallway, right passed the gifts under the tree and was a big confused on what he was supposed to be doing. I'm not sure if he thought he'd be seeing Santa Clause or not. We told him to look under the tree and a huge smile went across his face and he ran to the gifts and started tearing through a large gift bag.
He tore the tissue paper out of the bag and thought IT was the gift and started shaking it (maybe I could have gotten away with that sort of gift for one more year). We finally got him to look IN the bag and he was thrilled to see a yellow pair of galoshes with fire trucks on the side. He sat down immediately and put the boot on and has been wearing them around the house for the last 2 days.
We then had the kids look in their stockings and Wyatt was happy to see a police car, a motorized train and Cars coloring book. Wyatt then opened some other gifts from family and friends and loved every one, especially his new books.
Sammy got to open a few presents of his own and really liked the leopard on wheels toy that slinks across the room and the bead maze toy. He was also pretty excited about the tissue paper.
Ross got hooked up with fly fishing gear and is all set to begin his new hobby this spring.
Ross got my a few gifts including a years worth of manicures and pedicure so I can get a little pampering a couple of times a month and just get out of the house. It is going to be awesome! My feet can't wait!
