Christmas Eve

Ross worked Christmas Eve and his shift decided to invite family members over for a Christmas Eve dinner. Wyatt was so excited to visit his dad at work and see the fire trucks. He even had an excuse to wear his fire truck sweater his Nana had bought for him while Sam was dressed in a "I wanna be a (future) fireman" shirt. The kids looked great.

Wyatt talked for nearly the entire hour-long drive and kept saying, "Wyatt go fire station. See daddy drive fire truck," over and over again. I couldn't get us there fast enough.

The boys spent some time climbing in and out of the fire apparatus before Ross was called out on a medical call. Wyatt got swept up by another firefighter as Ross hopped in the aid car and drove away with the lights flashing.

We entertained ourselves until Ross got back and we enjoyed our dinner. The guys then again got paged out on a structure fire that proved to be just some burnt food on a stove so the truck quickly returned to the firehouse to enjoy some dessert and then we headed home so I could get the boys in bed and prepare for Santa's arrival, which luckily for me, happened by 11 p.m.
