The Tucci Family: Wyatt's Birthday

We took the kids over to Kidz Bounce in Preston this morning to celebrate Wyatt's 3rd birthday. The kids had a great time running around, bouncing and sliding down the inflatable slides. Wyatt was fearless on the 25-foot slide and went down it over and over and over again.

Sammy was too small for the slides but celebrated his 1.5 birthday in his own way by climbing into the inflatables and exploring them. He wasn't stable enough to bounce on two feet but did a little bouncing from his knees.

This is definitely a place we will return to when the weather goes south and we are in need of some indoor fun.

After the Kidz Bounce session we headed into town town and ate lunch at an old roadhouse built in 1916. The waitress was really nice to Wyatt, even though he accidentally called her a witch instead of waitress, and he sang "Happy Birthday" to himself over and over again throughout lunch. After the meal, the waitress brought over a huge dessert complete with chocolate lava cake, a chocolate chip cookie and whipped cream. We sang to him and he blew out the candle without needing a reminder about the birthday song routine.

Before nap time, he opened one gift and received a Lightning McQueen coloring book with markers that only work on that special paper (BRILLIANT!) and another book that he can practice writing his letters and numbers in with a dry erase marker.

We worked on the number 3 since it's his third birthday and by his 5th try he was making perfect number 3s on the page. His penmanship was great for about 5 minutes before fatigue apparently set in but this will be a great way to prepare him for preschool.

This evening we connected with Granddad and Nana via Skype and Wyatt opened his birthday presents. His favorite gift by far was his digital camera (yes they make these for toddlers these days). He also like his Buzz Lightyear and Woody action figures and his new books.
