We had a busy weekend with Mother's Day and the boys turning 21 months and 3 months old all on the same day. We celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday since Ross had to work on the actual Mother's Day but that is just the life of a firefighter family and was no big deal.
Ross surprised me with a giant bouquet of red and yellow tulips and red peonies and then we packed the family up to visit Julie and the cousins. We watched Olivia's softball game and they boys had a great time at the ballpark playground.
We capped off the night with a barbecue and Ross gave me an amazing Mother's Day gift- tickets to see Wynonna in concert this September! I can't wait! It's been way too long since I've been to a concert- maybe 8 years?!
Samuel had his three month check-up on Monday and measured in at 11 lbs, 14 oz (20% percentile) and 24 inches tall (50%). He is well on his way to being the "big" brother as Wyatt has only measured outside of the 3rd percentile once when he measured in the 5th percentile at his 18 month check-up. Poor little Sam had six immunizations and battled a fever for the next couple of days but seems to be feeling like his old self again.
Wyatt is getting to be so independent and now wakes me up most mornings by bursting into the bedroom with a huge smile and waving. He then shuttles all of his stuffed animals and blankets into my room for some cuddle and tv time before breakfast. It truly is my favorite part of the day.
He has been such a big boy as of late, helping dad around the house and tending to his little brother's needs. Last night, Sam was screaming while I tried to quickly make dinner for Wyatt. I check in on the boys and Wyatt was talking to Sam so gently and trying to calm him down by offering him a pacifier and a blanket. He really is such a thoughtful child.
