Beaned By A Balloon

Wyatt and Samuel actually "played" together for the first time yesterday and it was so heartwarming to see. The kids were sitting together while Wyatt ate his lunch and he was playing with a partially deflated balloon. Wyatt decided to bat the balloon against Sam's face, which one might think Sam wouldn't like but instead it resulted in Sam hysterically laughing for more nearly 10 minutes with the barrage of hits. Wyatt was happy to oblige.

Best Friends

Wyatt had a full afternoon of fun with his BFF Elia. They rode bicycles together, first on their own tricycles and then on the same one.



Then they played in Wyatt's sand/water table tossing around sand and building sand castles.

Then they took turns running around the big tree stump in the front yard, followed by endless climbing of said stump and leaping off of it.

Then they went on a bike ride as passengers as Elia's daddy went on his own ride and pulled them along in a chariot.

Elia confided in Ross and I that she loved Wyatt and that he was so sweet. This on the heels of her dad telling us that she thought Wyatt was so big and strong.

Then at dinner Wyatt says "Kiss Elia" and "Hug Elia" so who knows what happened on that bike ride.

Sam hung out and watched his big brother, splitting his time between his stroller and and a comfy lawn chair.

Who knew toes could be so entertaining?

BFF'S Take Two

We had another play date with the Nylund boys last week and the kids had a great time. Sam and 11-month old Tyler hung out with the mommy's on a blanket in the shade, while the big boys played on the playground and in the sandbox. Tyler loved Sam and kept crawling over to him and patting him on the head and back.

Sam was a good sport about and beating he was taking from Tyler and didn't even complain. Good thing since he'll probably be fighting off Wyatt soon enough and will need to be tough.


Wyatt and Cody climbed up and down the playground, yelled at passing airplanes and mooed at the nearby pasturing cows.

Then the kids played hide and seek and chased each other around an out building over and over and over again. Wyatt skinned his knee at one point- his first real raspberry- but a little medicine and a Bat Mobile band-aid was all it took to get him back to the game.

As much as I love the kids making friends I love knowing that they will always have each other as lifetime BFFs (best friends forever).

Ready For My Close-Up

I took these shots this afternoon while Wyatt played with his water/sand table making sand castles and Samuel watched from his new saucer. They are so beautiful.

Riding Trikes

Wyatt and his best neighbor friend, Elia, were given tricycles last week so they took them for an impromptu spin together in front of our houses this morning (thus Wyatt in his pj's). Both of the kids had Red Riders and over sized bicycle helmets and were cute as could be.
They each struggled to put enough momentum behind the pedals to make the bikes go forward but I'm confident they will be zipping around the neighborhood in no time. I'm so glad Wyatt has a little friend his age that he can play with.
Wyatt loved the bell and horn Elia had on her handle bars so Ross and I will be making a run to the store to get Wyatt something loud and obnoxious to ring or honk this week.

Sam Slept Through The Night!!

Sam slept through the night last night! That's right, it only took him SIX MONTHS to do it but I'm staying positive and will hope for the best tonight. I put him to bed at 9:30 p.m. and he slept until 4:30 a.m. MIRACLE OF MIRACLES!!!

Future NASCAR Pit Boss

Wyatt may be looking for a career as a NASCAR pit boss. Or maybe he is helping daddy and Uncle Nick cut firewood.

Nick gave Wyatt his birthday present today- a huge Tonka dump truck- and Wyatt used it like a wheel barrow to move cut firewood from the front drive to the wood pile in the backyard. He was just too darn cute in his new overalls that I snagged at a yard sale for $5.
