Zoo Lights & Snowshoeing

We watched our three nephews and niece over the weekend and had a wonderful time. On Saturday night we headed south to the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma where we met up with a couple of families from our moms group and toured Zoo Lights.

It was freezing outside so we headed into the aquarium section of the zoo to look at the fish and warm up. Within a few minutes we were all sweating so we headed back out to check out the lights and see some of the animals.

Sam, Ross, Wyatt, Noah, Olivia, Elijah and Zion

Sam loved checking out the sharks...

Wyatt just loved hanging with Noah...

The next day we headed to Snoqualmie Pass to go "snowshoeing". The snow was so compacted that we ended up leaving the snow shoes in the cars and just went for a winter hike to Gold Creek Pond. The kids had a great time and the big kids took turns pulling Wyatt and Sammy in the sled. They also slid down the hills and built a snow cave under a picnic table before we headed back home for lunch.

Cousin: (Back) Elijah and Zion (Front) Wyatt, Noah, Sam and Olivia.

On the way back, Wyatt decided he wanted a "free ride" too and grabbed hold of the back of Sam's sled.

Then Wyatt hopped in the sled and Elijah sprinted up and down the trail as fast as he could go with Wyatt screaming in delight.

Sam rode Ross and then Noah's shoulders for the hike back to the cars. I just love this picture of him with those beautiful blue eyes. :)
