Happy Halloween

I've been picking the boys' brains for six months now on what they would like to be for Halloween. Answers ranged from a pirate, cowboy, Buzz and Jessi (Sam volunteered to be the girl), Darth Vadar, a police officer, a firefighter, dad (Sam's idea- he says this is somehow different than a firefighter costume), President Obama (Wyatt), a piece of wood (Wyatt), or a tree (Wyatt). We eventually had a consensus of Captain Hook costumes and no matter how much I tried neither one of them would compromise and be Peter Pan so we had twin Captain Hooks this year.

 

The costumes were gorgeous and had so much detail that people actually thought I made them- haha! We kicked off the day with a party at Wyatt's preschool where the kids played Halloween games and ate lots of sweets. Sam LOVED being at school and would go every day if we let him.

Here are the boys in Wyatt's class (Robby, Johnny, Wyatt, Ryan, Beau and his little brother- Owen).

Wyatt passed out Halloween pencils to his classmates who got to practice trick-or-treating before the big night.

Once the sun went down we met up with Kelly and headed over to the only neighborhood in town with sidewalks and streetlight- Si View- and let the boys trick-or-treat for over an hour. Wyatt was a seasoned pro but this was really the first year the Sam had the knowledge and the courage to go door to door and fill his candy bucket. One of the best moments of the night was when we approached a house that had a motion sensor skeleton that shook when activated. I thought Sam would get scared and maybe even cry but he took his Captain Hook sword and stabbed it. It was amazing! Something tells me little Sam is going to be no push over.

We stopped by an old friend's house and the boys got to visit with the Little Mermaid- a.k.a. Elia.
